Brew Beer Blog has produced this organised, aesthetically pleasing guide to the basics of major strains of hops.

Personally I'm all about that citra hop life but I'm a pretty zealous hophead in general. In the age of quadruple IPA's with names like Ruination and Palette Destroyer it's easy to forget that hops on hops on hops was not always the norm in beer brewing.

So thank you, hops, for beer.

For being a natural sedative. For looking incredibly illicit when processed and packaged. For smelling like allspice that finally took a shower or juniper that's finally learned relaxation techniques. Thank you, hops.

By the way, never allow your dogs to get near hops or spent grain as they can become critically ill from ingesting them.
